Nord Electro 7, what features do people want?
Nord Electro 7, what features do people want?
Hello all,
I just bought an Electro 5 a week before the 6 came along and decided against taking it back because the 5 has had time for the OS to develop. I prefer the original positioning of the drawbars (they've moved the interface further to the right) and specs wise the 6 is a disappointment to me. The only attractive upgrade is the music rest.
Where is half damper capability and compatability with the triple pedal? What about a possible 49 key version in the future to replace the godawful tp100 76? What else do people want from the electro?

Man, you have a brand new E5, the E6 isn't even in the shops yet... and you're already thinking about the 7?

Of course, we're gear sluts, that's why we're on the forum. Always more sample memory and new samples. However much the E6 has, WE WANT MORE. Is that so wrong?

Since we have a NS3 and a NE6, Nord should just take a page from the Apple playbook and introduce the Nord X as their next instrument. It would be an infinitely customizable system capable of doing the work of every instrument Nord has ever produced.
Nords: NE2, NS2 88, NS3 Compact x 2
Live rig: NS3, Vent, Radial KL-8, Shure PSM-900 IEM Rig, UE18 & UE7 IEMs.
Studio: Hammond A-101 & Leslie 122, Yamaha CP-80, Yamaha S90, NS2, DSI Prophet-6, Vent II, Roland JX-8P.

Studio: Hammond A-101 & Leslie 122, Yamaha CP-80, Yamaha S90, NS2, DSI Prophet-6, Vent II, Roland JX-8P.

I was being silly about the Nord X (though it would be cool to have access to all Nord capabilities in one keyboard).Eumel wrote:

I was at a jam session the other night with my Stage 3, doing all manner of live tweaking with delays and such, and at some point, the drummer asks me, “does that thing make coffee, as well?”
I thought, “now THERE’s an idea!”

Simple. I want to be able to layer the good piano sounds with the good Rhodes sounds.

The next Nord board that I buy will have a pitch bend control on it.
