Re: New Nord Electro 6
Difficult to give a considered opinion on this latest version until we get a full feature walkthrough. Based on what is on the Nord site, it looks like they have added a few nice-to-have tweaks, but no killer feature that would make me want to upgrade from the Electro 5. I wonder how many musicians actually want to layer piano/organ/synth at the same time?
What would have sold it to me would have been the ability to load two different synth samples into either side of a split, plus a layered organ or piano.
It would be good if some of the software features such as the dual organ display mode could be retrospectively rolled out to the Electro 5 in a future OS update.

Re: New Nord Electro 6
Figures. I bought a 5D six months ago. The only feature that the Electro 6 has that I really want is seamless transition. Is there any chance Nord will release a software update that provides that in the Electro 5? Or would they not do that because they want you to buy the 6?

Re: New Nord Electro 6
If they do this, give the Electro 5 the seamless features, the stage 2 owners will also ask for it.
So I do not think so...

What you can do now on the E6 is organ plus pianos/string layer. That seems pretty useful.

Re: New Nord Electro 6
Nice to see some of the features from the NS3 finding their way into the new NE6. Still, plenty of differentiation though. Like 2GB of piano memory vs 512MB, among others.
If I was a NE5 owner, there wouldn't be enough there for me to upgrade. However, if you're a NE4 owner (I am), looks like a HUGE upgrade. Except that I've just scratched that itch with a NS3 Compact.
Expect some deeper discounting on the NE5 until inventory is gone. If you've been on the fence considering a NE5, this should help.

External keyboard feature: Freely assign sound engines to be controlled by an external keyboard, while others are played from the Nord Electro 6.

Re: New Nord Electro 6
Changing program wth a pedal like the NS3 would have been great with the seamless transition on the electro 6
