I play in a lounge/jazz act that dabbles in oldies rock, and depending upon the chart, I opt for Grand Imperial, Silver Grand, or Bambino. I found myself EQing the Bambino a bit, but it’s not really needed on the others.

Note that I don’t really trust the mono summing of any stereo piano sample (FOH is mono), so I allow the instrument to remain configured to send a stereo signal, but I only connect the right out. This ensures (for me, at least) that no pesky phase cancellations ruin my tone. Yes, there is a price to be paid in the volume of the lower octaves, but that helps naturally tame the muddy aspect mentioned above, without having to resort to EQ.

First off distortion. If u are worried about how loud,
Then make sure your master volume on keyboard is
70-80ish percent, chech that agsinst the preamp in the
pA board to make sure u dont clip the channel. Use a radial
Engineering DI box to seperate what u have going to
the FOHOUSE. MIX what u need.
