hi everybody
I have similar problems as Jurgen describes in his post "Electro 2 failure to launch" but not the same. That's why I started a new topic.
About two weeks ago my Electro 3 (73) powered down two, three times during rehearsal. I could start it again and it worked fine for a few minutes and then killed it self again.
After 3-4 times it failed to launch completely. When I pushed the power button all LED's flash one brief time and then nothing happend.
The next day it worked fine again. I reported the incident to Nord but got no answer until now...
Today the same thing happened again and it still failes to work. In five days i have a event and it would be comforting, if I knew what is wrong with my Electro until then. It would be a nasty thing to happen during a concert. (In case it magically works again until then)
I attached a movie where I turn the Electro on and off a few times.
The OS is up to date.
Anybody had the same problems or got any suggestions?
Thanks for any help
Jonathan

Hello Jonathan,
What answer did Nord give?
Have they seen the video?
Cheers, Hanon

Hello Hanon.
Sorrily i had no answer from Nord to my support request two weeks ago. That's why I am trying my luck here.
I only made the video today and haven't sent it to them until now.
Update:
Just sent a new request with the link to this thread to Nord support.

Re: Electro 3 failure to launch
Hey Hanon,
I don't have any suggestions. However my electro 3 (61) which has worked perfectly up until yesterday has just started getting an error every time I switch it on. It flashes "ERR" "PNO" alternatively when it is first switched on. If I hit the instrument type selection button it clears this error and starts working like normal. I down loaded the new OS when it came out which was about 2 months ago (approximately?). I suspect my problem is OS related but not 100% sure. I might try reloading the piano samples as one of these might be corrupt hence the "PNO" in the error. Anyway good luck with finding out what is wrong. It's a shame Nord doesn't have a better troubleshooting area on their website or in the manual that comes with the instruments.
Cheers,
Rob

@Rob
for the most part, Nord's instruments are trouble free. It's hard to cover every possible issue in a troubleshooting matrix.
This is where the forum, and excellent factory technical support comes in. Most of the time Nord returns technical support requests in a day or less "weekends and holidays not withstanding".
As for your issue: I would check to make sure that you have the latest samples "versions 5.3" also check to see if the program number that it boots up to makes any difference.
Please post back and let me know how changing out the piano samples works.
Cheers, Hanon

Re: Electro 3 failure to launch
finally ... i have my electro back.
here the story: about two weeks after my first request to nord i received a mail from the swiss nord general dealer (nord support had asked them if they had answers my mail) with the suggestion, to get my electro back to my dealer because it was most certainly a hard wear problem.
that was wright. the "print" and the sd-ram were broken. the new parts had to be sent from sweden, so it took 5 weeks until it was fixed and back in my possession. (after paying 300€)
all in all i am satisfied with the nord support because they reacted after my second request and got the swiss general dealer to contact me.
hopefully this will be my last support request to you guys.
thanks
jonathan

@Hanon
Sorry for the delay in replying. For some reason the sample must have got corrupted so I just deleted it and reloaded and now it works fine. It's a bit strange as at the time the problem had occurred I hadn't plugged the electro into the computer for quite sometime and the problem just started for no reason.
Anyway all fixed now.
Cheers, Rob
