Hello,
i recently bought the JG3 tech midi pedals (16 note) but I cannot connect them to my electro 5d.
the setup is pretty straight forward. midi out from the pedals to midi in on the keyboard.
the pedal board has 3 settings that control:
1) Bass channel – 1 to 16
2) Volume pedal state – active / not in use
3) Volume pedal CC – the CC value of the volume signal being sent to your keyboard (1 – 128)
Can you tell me what the midi menu settings should be set at in order to make this work?
Thank you!

Re: electro 5D w acc. midi pedals
The pedals just act as any external master keyboard (no, they won't let you play the Hammond bass while you play upper and lower manuals on the keyboard, the NE can only handle 2 parts). You need to set the Midi parametrs as explained on the MIDI chapter of NE5 manual, see "scenario 3: Nord Electro 5... Receiving MIDI on Part UPPER in MIDI UPPER receive mode"

Re: electro 5D w acc. midi pedals
thank you for your response, I got the midi pedals working by switching around to a difference channel. My next question is... can there be 3 voices active at once while in the B3+Bass mode?
also, would it make any sense for all the notes below Eb on the midi pedals to sound an octave higher? could this have something to do with where the KB split is set?
thoughts? thank you

With regars to teh first question: as I wrote the NE5 does not support 3 active voices, also in Organ split/dual manual mode you have 2 max (so either Lower+Upper or Bass+Single Manual)
With regards to the second question, I am not sure what you mean but I'd check the Octave settings of the NE5 part that is being played by the MIDI Pedals and/or any equivalent (octave) setting on the pedals themselves.

Re: electro 5D w acc. midi pedals
But.. can You really get the Bass part of the B3+Bass onto the pedals?
I think Bass is only lower, and midi keyboard is only upper recieve.
I've been trying to get the Bass on my MIDI keyboard, but with no luck.
Should be the same problem here...?

Re: electro 5D w acc. midi pedals
Honestly, I think this is a major omission by Nord...you can only send the upper part of the NE5 to an external keyboard or device, so the idea of even having a +Bass functionality is UTTERLY USELESS, as there is no way to send the +Bass sound to an external device, such as Bass Pedals. It's REALLY daft. Nord really need to add a Send/Receive Lower midi option, without it, the full potential of the +Bass function is wasted! I have no idea why they didn't think of this!?

Couldn't agree more.
This is a massive mistake (or very conscious but completely misguided product positioning if the Stage can do Lower receive MIDI).
