No 1st Party Drumkits?
Yo, I know this ain't no Casio, but is it me or are drum kits conspicuously absent from the NSMP libraries? It'd be nice to just have a few basic kits on board for sketching sometimes.

Without a built-in sequencer, I'm not sure what use they would be. And if you're using a computer as your sequencer, there are plenty of drum sounds available there.Fallboard wrote:Yo, I know this ain't no Casio, but is it me or are drum kits conspicuously absent from the NSMP libraries? Re: No 1st Party Drumkits?
I have an occasional use for drum sounds and have found samples in .nsmp format that satisfy my needs. I think there was at least one from Nord and then I believe a few offered here on this forum. I have needed claps and a few other specialized percussion sounds that I simply map to the right zone and trigger live from the keyboard. I also found several really cool drum loops on this forum that are super fun to load into one of the slots and set on hold to play along with while jamming solo or learning something.

I'm with the guys above on drum kits for pro keyboards. But I think there's a sample with some sort of drum sounds on one of the last Mellotron samples in the NS3 library.

Yeah I figured as much and the point about not having a sequencer is most definitely a thing. Kind of realize in retrospect this might have been a silly question, but it did bring up the image of auto-chording and "auto accompaniment" on a NS3 and it made me laugh

Re: No 1st Party Drumkits?
in my case a pretty good sequencer with 10 fingers sits behind my Ns3 and I like to avoid computers on stage ... the urgent need is a simple natural drum or percussion set with kick on key c snare on key d, e and so on - additionally I have an Alesis Vortex 2 permanently connected to panel B and there are also 8 drumpads available that would benefit a lot from this

Re: No 1st Party Drumkits?
Well you can easily build your own drumkit using Nord Sample Editor and a drumkit sample-set in .wav format out of the many available around the web (or you can resample a drumkit you already have on other HW/SW instrument)Lumserei wrote:in my case a pretty good sequencer with 10 fingers sits behind my Ns3 and I like to avoid computers on stage ... the urgent need is a simple natural drum or percussion set with kick on key c snare on key d, e and so on - additionally I have an Alesis Vortex 2 permanently connected to panel B and there are also 8 drumpads available that would benefit a lot from this
