Nord synth engines feature comparison

Post by Bachus »

I was hoping to find some information about the differences between all the seperate Nord synth engines

Seems

Nord stage 2ex
Nord stage 3
Nord lead 4
Nord lead 1A
Nord Wave

All have a different synth engine with crossovers and differences

Would there be a comparrison chart somewhere?

I was told by another forum member here that the synth from the
NS Classic was derived from the lead
NS 2 from the Wave
NS 3 from the A1

Ok, I though Stage 2 was the NL2X but with the ability to play samples, it's closer to the Wave than the N2X maybe...

There is no such comparison chart, but specs and manuals are available for free at the mothership website, so...why don't you try and build one? ;-)

I am so anxious to hear the Nord Stage 3 synth engine in depth. I would almost consider selling my NS2 SW73 so I could put that money toward a NS3, but I love mine so much and I would hate to get a new one and be disappointed. Like I've said before, I prefer the LED drawbars but now I ubderstand that the physical drawbars are more appropriate for waterfall organ action on NS3 SW73. I wonder if the register on the NS3 starts on E or F? I will look that up.
But I can't wait to hear the new synth section on the NS3.
I doubt I will ever sell my NS2 SW73. It's easily the best investment I've even made; and I'm so glad I went with the lighter board (thanks Pablo) and if the NS3 EX comes out and knocks my socks off, I might consider upgrading but NS2 is nearly perfect for me.

So, no need, no stress. Just save more and buy a Stage 3 when you will have enough to keep both....

The register on the Stage 3 Compact is from E to E
