Nord Stage 2 88 - Dimensions for Case

Post by F-Chris-O »

Hi everybody,

in a few weeks i´m going to be a proud owner of the new nord stage 2 88. My question is:

Can i use a case with the interior dimensions:

Interior Length 52.25 in /132.72 cm
Interior Width 16.50 in /41.91 cm
Interior Depth 6.00 in /15.24 cm

here is a link to the webseite: http://www.skbcases.com/industrial/prod ... id=366&s=l

Do you think the space at the keyboards ends and on top is enough for a satisfying padding? Is the nord stage 2 really only 4.5 in /12,1 cm high? Including the control buttons and the contact surface?

thanks for the answers.

Chris (Germany)

Hi,

Thanks for the quick answer. I also thought about getting the thomann case. It´s far less expensive but also a few kg heavier. Also, it has no wheels. I will be transporting the stage a lot by train so I need to keep the weight as low as possible. On the thomann page they only give the exterior dimensions. What´s about the interior?

The interior matches the NS exactly with ~ 1 cm in each dimension just to put the fingers and lift the keyboard.
The butterfly catches are Ok from a local to a vehicle, not for the train, that's for sure, you need wheels. Maybe you can ask them this option.
I'll tell you the exact weight & dimension tonight.

@frantzkb: Thanks!!

Has anybody some experience with the skb low profile cases? Are they satisfying? Do the Wheels reduce the useable space of the case?

The Thon case is :
external : 21*41*137 cm
internal : 16.5*130.5*35.5 cm
weight : 13 kg, I went on my "weight machine" with the case, then alone :)

Thank´s a lot.
What´s your opinion: Would the Stage fit into a case witch is only 15 cm deep? I would still need at least two cm for padding. So there is 13 cm for the stage left. Would only weight 10 kg. And has wheels. So it would be perfect.

i have this one:

http://www.thomann.de/de/thon_keyboard_ ... unstst.htm

it´s custom made and very lightweight.
I´m very satisfied with that - i ordered it with the addition "playable in case", so you only have to lift off the cover.

How heavy is it?
Was there an extra charge for the addition?

You're right the only question left about this case : http://www.skbcases.com/industrial/prod ... id=366&s=l is about the 15cm interior depth ... The NS is only 12 cm high. That depends on the padding inside, It certainly worth giving a try. You could send it back if its not Ok.

When I bought my case, I wanted one that fits exactly the keyboard because I got a small vehicle quite often.

You'll probaly have some extra space in the width dimension (41 cm) that may be usefull to put some other stuff (that depends on the padding). That can be usefull.
