Some sounds worked, others didn't

Postby lennaerttol » 07 Oct 2011, 16:33

Hi,

Yesterday I wanted to rehearse with my band and use the NE3, but when I came there, the grand piano, upright piano, some samples and the organ worked. All the other samples, clav, wurli and ep didn't produce any sound, only when I turned on the rotary effect or the chorus. When I turned on the keyboard at home tomorrow, everything worked again. Does anyone know what that could be?

Thanks,
Lennaert

I think that this can be the same thing as this case:

Stereo sounds works, but not mono, unless you make them stereo by turing on reverb, chorus, rotary... Check your cables, connections, mixer, headphone adapters that are not inserted correctly etc.

Are all wurlitzers, epiano's etc. mono? I've tried it with 2 cables, one with left + right input used, the light for mono wasn't on and one with only the left input plugged in. It can't be the mixer or other connections, because I've tried it in 2 rooms with different mixers and I had only the power cable and sound cable inserted.

The Rhodeses and Wurli samples are MONO almost surely (as the originals), so your description indeed exactly fits the exact nulling out hypothesis, e.g., some cable/plug problems. I would meticulously check the cables, and the plugs if they look and "click/sound" OK, try headphones, each channel separately using at least two different cables and if the problem persist, describe at which exact configuration the problem occurs.

Thanks!

I hope it's the problem you think it is and that it isn't a problem in the instrument. I hope this problem won't occur anymore and that I don't have to send my Nord away.
