I control my NL4r from a kb controller which is set to transmit midi channel 1. It works as expected with other synths.
But the NL4r seems to respond to the keyboard controller no matter which channel the nord lead is on. I changed it
from ch1 to ch2 to ch3 etc - and the nl4r responds, which means it can't isolate the specific midi channel.
Why is it doing this and how can i change it so that it would only respond to a specific channel?
Nord lead 4 - midi seems like it's constantly in omni mode

Did you try changing the global midi channel on the NL4?

Yes. When i enter the midi settings, it's the first category. The screen shows 'G' and the midi channel number, and by pressing shift and rotating the data entry encoder i change the channel. But the nord responds no matter what channel i choose.skintechnician wrote:Did you try changing the global midi channel on the NL4?

Hi zahush76,
Try setting NL4 four Parts as follows :
Part 1 to midi ch 2
Part 2 to midi ch 3
Part 3 to midi ch 4
Part 4 to midi ch 5
See if this helps.
Cheers,
Muziksculp

Since Nord calls them SLOTS and not parts, it may avoid confusion in some if we continue to call them SLOTS
but, yes, zahush76, it would seem likely that you are not going fully into the MIDI MENU. It is not enough for you to set the Global midi channel, you must also set the individual SLOT channels, especially on the Rack version. That is where your problem lies.
Bless, Pablo
