Hello everybody,
I posted the same request a few day ago on the Electro forum with no success. So I try here hoping that someone can try a Nord Sample :

I was trying those sounds from Pontus Enrikson :

My Nord Electro 5 is with the last firmware 1.28 and so does my Sound Manager 6.80. " Edit : the 6.82 does have the same bug ... see below .... "

But .... Impossible to load the "DXPiano_ste_PH". The other PH sounds did work but not this one (and I love DX7 samples ...)

When I try, the sound manager tells me that the version of this sample is not a 1.x nor a 2.x and that is it not compatible with the material.



Can someone take a minute to try to load it please ? And tell me if you have the same effect ?

Obsolescence of the sample ? To old ?

Yes I tried to download it again. It doesn t work neither.
I didn t write to Nord for the moment but if you could try just to tell me if you have the same effect, I would be very very grateful !

Hi, if you downloaded it again and still does not work, then let Clavia know, it is their product.
You could point them to this thread so they can see the error.
The lack of success in others testing this is probably that not many have the time or will to delete the samples from their packed ram to make space and test a file they are not interested in anyway. There are DX epiano npno files already available which would sound way better than nsmp files.

Can you load nsmp files in the sample editor? I thought that it is not possible.

No I didn't try. But I will take a look on my computer to see if it's possible.

Guess what ?
I tried to upload the P.H. Dx7 Sample to the Nord Sample Editor. First reaction, the Editor told me that the version was no longer compatible with my Electro 5 OS 1.28 ...
It was the 2.20 version of the Editor.

So I downloaded the very last one, the 2.28 version of the Sample Editor.
First, It was now compatible with my Electro 5. And .... it did import the sample to the Electro !!!!!!!!! Your idea worked !!!!! Thank you !!!!!

The sample is tremendously good ! Sounds almost as good as the Dx7 sample of the piano section in a different way and with the electro filters (dynamic).

So ... the Nord Sound Manager 6.80 seems to have a little bug with this particular DXPiano_ste_PH sample.

If someone could still try to know if you have the same effect ? I am a curious guy an I don't like to not understand things
