Hi everyone. I've seen there are some new versions of some of the sample library of the NS2 EX. Nearly the same name with 2.0 at the end. The thing is that it's the same sounds but need less memory because Clavia found a new compression without a loss of quality.
As in the Nord Stage 2 old version, we could replace some of those sounds in the Nord Wave and save some precious mega octets!
Am I right?

Partly right -- same compression, they're just tightening up the samples themselves, shedding excess data, optimizing loop points, etc. But yes, they can be swapped into the place of the older versions to conserve space (and load more stuff!).

I am far from from my kbd, but I had a look at the samples and if i recall correctly the white noise sample was about 2MB. Why so bulky? One can create a much smaller sample without much difference in audible result.

I don't know for the white noise but I've read that we would get 30% space with these new samples, nice!

Is there a list of samples that have been converted to V2.0 NS2 EX? Can't find anything on Clavia website?

and you'll see some of the new versions of the "old" sounds...
