A new Hammond clone... (not red)

Post by Nordlicht »

Just for information, unfortunately only in German, but you can watch and listen to the videos...

http://uhl-instruments.de/

Sounds great (HX3 engine inside) and the price is fair.
This will be a hard competitor for the C2/C2D!

At that price I would prefer a Crumar Mojo, cheaper and the VB3 II sounds much better than the HX3

Yeah, judging from few youtube videos, this new hammond clone sounds very good. I think the distortion effect sounds better, and the percussion effect sounded fuller vs C2D. But it's hard to get a proper impression from a few video clips. It would be great to hear some first hand experiences with this clone, and how it compares to the C2D.

Just in order to give you a feedback to my starting post: I've bought the X3-2 and sold my C2 in the meantime.
The C2 (v2.00) is a fantastic instrument and (listened to it alone) it sounds great, but the X3 sounds even more authentic, warm-organic and "real", especially the percussion is a dream, and the whole instrument is built like a tank.
As I don't need two organs, I kept the better one of two really good organs.

Btw: there's a new webpage: http://uhl-instruments.com/en/

I have an Electro 4D and an HX3 Epander Module (same sound engine UHL uses). Although I like the Electro 4D Hammond clone and certainly understand why it's so popular, the HX3 sounds noticeably more authentic.
