Hi,
I'm struggling to make a convincing wood block sound. Does anybody have any good settings/examples I could use?
Thanks!

Re: Wood Block Setting
Hi!
A while back I made a bank with 'acoustic' sounds and sets, (attached)
channel 3 of program #16 could perhaps be a starting point for you,
it's mainly based on noise ... so filter frequency + resonance is important, also the additional boost with EQ, and distortion
Cheers,
Albert

Albert,
The bank you posted appears to be blank when I load it. Can you re-post just in case?
Does anyone know what I may be doing wrong? I'm using a Roland UM-ONE Mk2 cable, all seems to work well...

Re: Wood Block Setting
Sorry for the late reply,
I just remembered that on a ND2 with an older OS version installed, banks made on a later OS (my bank is made in OS3.00) will appear blank, (programs will sound as init) - the OS is displayed briefly when you power on your ND2...
So:
- If your ND2 has an older OS installed, download the latest from the Nord website: http://www.nordkeyboards.com/downloads/nord-drum-2 - connect both MIDI in and out, and run the updater on your computer,
- When/If you have the latest OS installed, and the bank still appears blank after uploading, perhaps delete it from your computer and download it again, also try some of the banks from the Nord website -
- Maybe also try if a fresh copy of Nord Drum 2 Manager v1.00 helps: http://www.nordkeyboards.com/downloads/ ... -2-manager
- If the OS update, or bank uploads fail, then perhaps your combination of computer OS, drivers, and MIDI interface can't handle the SysEx data stream to the ND2 - I think -
- (in that case you need to retry by using a different computer system / other MIDI interface)
Hope it helps,
Cheers,
Albert
