Re: Nord Stage and MIDI tutorial
Hi all,
I'm now familiar with getting programs (=sounds) from my KORG 01W to my NS2 via MIDI.
However there is another big task for me.
As you might know KORG differentiates between programs and combinations (= set of max. 8 programs), each of them in a bank A and a bank B. So the 01W hat 100 programs in bank A and 100 programs in bank B, as well as 100 combinations in bank A and 100 in bank B.
My question is: Is there a MIDI command for my NS2 that allows me to not only switch from one sound (program) to another but to switch from programs to combinations and viceversa, too. E.g. from PROGRAM A21 to COMBINATION B41.
I think that there is a command that makes that possible.
Can anyone help ?
Thanks so much in advance.
Joe

Re: Nord Stage and MIDI tutorial
I think the Korg would need to receive two commands, a Mode Change (I think the 01 is prepared for that) and a Program change.
I believe that you won't be able to send these two commands easily.

Re: Nord Stage and MIDI tutorial
This is a really professional piece of work and puts to shame a lot of the official documentation released with hardware!
Really appreciate the effort you put into this - thanks!

And now for something completely different...

Re: Nord Stage and MIDI tutorial
Hi there,
I'm wondering if somebody could help me. I have a Nord Stage 2 and am trying to run RMS Keyboards through my computer. It's a program with all the patches inbuilt for playing in musicals. I have connected the Nord to my computer (PC) via a USB cable. The program recognises that there is a Nord Stage 2 connected, but I can't get anything else to work. No sound comes out, I can't assign keys for sorting through sounds, nothing is happening... I've tried to hard to read all the comments and have downloaded the Nord Stage MIDI Document and read it, but I can't make sense of what I'm supposed to do. If there is a link, or somebody who can help, I would appreciate it. I think all I am trying to do is turn my Nord Stage 2 into a slave to produce whatever sounds the program is telling it to produce. I don't need any other settings on the Nord to work, except perhaps volume... Thanks so much for any help that anybody can give because I have spent hours going through the MIDI settings on the Nord and it just doesn't make sense to me.
Huge thanks in advance,
Mark
