My two cents: get yourself a cool BBD chorus pedal, like the Boss CE3. It's a mellow, classic, mono-to-stereo, compact companion!
Thanks for the advice mate i shall have a look at them tonight :-)

I was recently looking for effect pedals, if you are not some kind of analog purist, this may be worth a look: http://www.zoom.co.jp/products/ms-70cdr

It models some famous analog boxes too.

Nah, i'm no analog purist here. If it sounds good then i use it. Gonna be checking more stuff out today. Still waiting for my Nord Drum 2 to be delivered. In the meantime for drums i just found a sound with a drum machine called "Microtonic" it has a 30 day demo and i had some great stuff going within minutes. I had never heard of this little drum vst before but i will buy it for sure.

Yesterday i decided to have a mess about and do a short audio demo for the patch bank i'm going to release this month for the Nord Lead 4. I programmed 110 patches (no performances) don't see the point in them but i quite enjoyed programming this synth. The last hardware synth i did was the factory sounds for Waldorf Pulse 2 but this is a different beast altogether. Anyways i made a mixture of Ambient, House, Techno and Trance patches (may not suite everyone) There are no external FX used on the single or layered synth parts in the demo. This is all the Nord 4. Only EQ and Limiter used on external drums. The demo shows just a few of the patches from the bank. I will finalise and release it next week.
