Hi Folks,
at my NS I #76 - Rev.b are the outputlevels in loudness extremley different.
Organ Section is much louder than piano section.
E-Piano sounds especially wurlitzer have a very low loudness with strong tendence to distortion compared to Piano loudness.
Is this normal?
How can i control this?
Thanks in advance for answering, also be Patient with me even if this question is not issued for the 1.st time
Cheers
Thilo

Re: Different loudness output levels
The organ is designed to be played through the Leslie simulation and with a swell pedal. If you don't play it with a pedal controlling the volume, it is quasi at maximum all the time. Adjust the output volume for the section so that it's no longer louder than the other sounds you're using — it will be saved as part of the patch.
The stock Wurlitzer sound just sucks, plain and simple. The newly-released Wurlitzer 2 downloadable from their homepage is MUCH better

Re: Different loudness output levels
Balancing the levels of the different sections on a Stage can be a tricky business. It's best not to program the individual sections at full volume, as you can't then increase the loudness of an individual section above the others. I set my "standard" piano level at -10dB (actually -10.1dB on the display) and reprogram all the other levels to match. It's a long tedious business if you have a lot of programs you use, but it makes things much easier when it's done.
However, the Organ is still a problem if you use any overdrive. That boosts the level a lot, and turning down the Organ section's level doesn't help because it just reduces the overdrive as well. The only answer I found was to send all the loud organs to the 3 and 4 outputs (you can do this per program) and connect these outputs to a couple of spare channels on your desk. You can then use your desk to turn outputs 3 and 4 down a bit - about 6dB quieter works for me.
