Stage 2 - external beat

Post by 2pacalypse33 »

Hey guys,

Do any of you use some type of external drum with the stage 2? I am looking for just some varied but basic rhythms that I can have playing alongside me. I would like to be able to control tempo. Is there anything basic like this that I can buy? Thanks!

If you happen to have an Apple iPad, it might be an option to get an app for the iPad that does that. I think there are several options, probably in the $5-10 range.

I have an Elektron Machinedrum, which is nice but probably to complex (and expensive!!) for what you need.

From what I gather you would prefer a good collection of pre-made beats as opposed to having to program your own. For this I can see 2 good options:

- EZ-Drummer (PC or MAC) has many great sounding beats and there are many expansion packs available.

- Logic (MAC) has a big collection of drum loops in many styles which you can also lay down on tracks.
My best memories are those I can't remember

+1 on EZ drummer if software is an option.
For hardware, a drum machine such as Akai's XR20, an Alesis, or (widely used) a Boss drum computer such as the Boss DR-880 are options and easy to use.

Indeed if you got an Ipad, this could be an easier (and cheaper way), or, if a limited number of grooves can do, using looped samples in your NS2 with the Hold function will also do the job, e.g., http://www.norduserforum.com/nord-stage ... t4770.html
