Re: Looking for a basic set of Hammond organ sounds

Post by Johannes »

Hi,

Indeed using the Nord Sample Editor is actually pretty nice, so I also gave it a try and sampled one of my favorite Hammond registration (No percussion, 888430000). Its a more mellow sound than the great sample provided by DjKeys.
I both created samples using the SLOW and FAST setting of the NS2 leslie emulation.
Here is how it sounds like:

I redorded two keys per octave, NSE automatically got it right, even for the looping regions in 70% of the samples, only needed some adjustments to get the phase right and some minor loop corrections, really easy, also to create other registrations. (There might be some room for improvements on one or two samples, in particular of the fast one, I can send you the recording and proj file if needed).

Ja ja. ;-)
But I created no ns2p file, just load it as a sample with no fx, filtering etc. (But since I sampled it from a NS2, why you want it on your NS2? Its more for NP2/NW users I think...)

You're right
No eq, nothing else than just 88843 and it sounds good like your sample

Johannes! These samples are fantastic! They sound great!

All of you guys have been so helpful! Thank you so much.

Johannes: if you ever have some time, it would be great to have these sounds with some percussion. I think they would sound great for a typical jazz organ solo playing bass with the left hand. Anyway, this is already great and I have what I needed for my urgent need now.

Thekiller01: I finally got the SC-Sounds password. I think Johannes' sound is better, but the good thing is that in SC-Sounds there is a nice variety for different gig styles. Thank you for your help on that. I recommend SC-Sounds for other people having the same needs as me.

Once again: thank you very much to all of you guys. You have solved my problem!

WOW!! I am surprised how good it sounds -- always thought that the organ would be very difficult to get good loop points, etc. And only two notes per octave?! Amazing...
