Hello, I am wondering about the Half Moon Switch, to me it is too expensive!!!
Have any of you built a switch?
If you have, can you give some tips on how to do it?
( sorry about my english...I'm from Sweden...)

I was sifting through the last remaining stocks of left-over (most everything else has been sold) parts from the now, sadly, defunct Puget Sound Organ Service company, and of course, not a half-moon switch remained. Except one entirely home-made copy of a half-moon, made out of wood, with a toggle switch.

But there were quite a few of the newer "Leslie Control Center" switch clusters available, cheap ($10.00). I'm going to try one on my Nord C-2, as it should mount to the holes provided. They are not as good as half-moon style switches, but they are better than a foot-switch, for me. Working on that right now.

The slickest Leslie switch I've seen is a gadget which mounts in the traditional position, and uses either (I'm not sure which) a photo-device or body-capacitance to switch Leslie speeds when you pass your finger across its surface, a smooth wooden strip.

Ho-Kay! The Leslie control center is done. with tri-color LED speed indicator, and velcro mount to the organ. Friend Barry put it together in between keeping public TV on the air. I'll attempt to take a couple of pictures and load them in. It's not the best in the world, but it's a big improvement on a footswitch. It's in the right place (lower left hand side) and the switch flicks easily.

It's not so great, but it's better than a footswitch.
