Re: C2 upgrade = C2D organ engine and rotary emulation
It really is incredible that they would give this free upgrade. I really like the new sound of the 2.0 upgrade. It fixed all of the small problems (and I mean very small) with the previous sound of the C2. E.g. I was beginning to feel frustrated about the treble/bass balance when playing jazz organ, and also felt that comping near the middle of the keyboard was a little bit muddy. Fixed!
Also, I was never happy with the Leslie sim, especially when I would stop the 'motor' and the horn would be pointing in a weird direction. The new 'A' rotary sim fixes this problem. The new key click sounds amazing too.
Before I had the Nord C2, I had the Korg BX-3, which was very expensive. Why didn't Korg ever upgrade the sound of the BX-3? Nord is making Korg look pretty foolish right now in regards to product support in my opinion.

Thanks for this free update! In my opinion this is what sets you apart from the rest : wanting to deliver great products and not squeeze every last penny out of your customers. I quit endorsing Yamaha and switched to Korg because of that. If you need endorsement in the Netherlands/Belgium/Germany/UK, let me know!
I'm a very happy C2 owner for years to come !

Re: C2 upgrade = C2D organ engine and rotary emulation
Oh, BTW : The difference between the 1.xx version of the C2 and the C2D is also in the Drive modelling that is also in the new 4D, Nord nowhere states that also the new Drive is in the v2 update for the C2....or is it part of the "new organ model" ?? Anyone who knows for sure ?

Re: C2 upgrade = C2D organ engine and rotary emulation
I wanted to thank Nord for the version 2.00 upgrade of the C2 organ. I was actually pretty upset when the new C2D appeared. Nord was very gracious to us C2 owners. In my case I was a C1 owner before who upgraded to the C2.
I don't expect 'lifetime' upgrades but this one was a very nice gesture - one that will keep me a loyal Nord customer. I have an electro 3; had the first electro then the electro 2 all of which have been major improvements on their predecessors.
Really appreciate this!

"To Mooser if you still read this forum
Now you have the led drawbars and the right sound."
Yes, and to top it off, I have an even higher opinion of Nord than I had before, which wasn't low. They didn't have to do that (offer the upgrade). I would, and many other would, have assumed the organ-engines were incompatible. Now Nord offers the drawbars of the C2D, if that is important to you, or the convenience of the LED system on the C2, if you use other organ types and presets. And for virtually the same price.
They didn't leave C2 owners in the lurch. It was generous, thoughtful, and makes me want to stick with Nord.
Now, if they just change the two buttons which control the LED drawbar to a more ergonomically intuitive rocker or paddle the Nord organ would be perfect!

Re: C2 upgrade = C2D organ engine and rotary emulation
Hi together,
due to this posts here and in combination of the current sellout price ( ) I thought some days - and bought a C2 (without a "D") yesterday.
After 25 years with a CX-3, a Viscount D9e and at last an Electro 2/73 now my dream has become true: A "nearly-real Hammond" in a beautiful red
First I checked the OS 1.32: Yes, a really improvement compared with my Electro 2.
But then I updated to OS 2.00 - and: Woooooooow! That was incredible! There is so much warmth and life in the sound, and especially the overdrive and the new Leslie-sims are superb. I am really excited!
So: a C2 with the latest OS is a C2D without drawbars for (at the moment) nearly half of the price.
Thanks.

Congratulation.
I have all three Nords.
The C2 with version 2.00 is a lot of organ sound for the money.
