Nord Stage Prices

Post by chevere »

Hola,

a musician friend of mine wants to buy a NS2 after he played mine and asked my about the best playes to buy it and best prices.
Since I got mine from dv247.co.uk at a incredible price of 2700 EUR, I thought there should be place out there where you can buy it at similar prices.
But using price comparison websites I could only find one at more than 3000 EUR (http://promusica.es/tiendaonline/es/nor ... -ha76.html)

So I thought, are there experiences of users who got a great deal on their NS2?
Or is there a database or so on this forum where this information is or could be gathered?

Thank you!

My understanding is that prices for the Stage 2 have steadilly risen over the last 12 months. I paid about £2,600 for my Stage 2 88 in October 2011 (along with a number of other accessories) and this was probably about the best deal that was available to me at that time.

You did incedibly well to get a Stage 2 for EUR 2,700 (about £2,150 - you didn't specify which model) and I am sure you did not pay the advertised rate as I wouldn't expect anyone spending a lot on musical equipment to be paying the advertised rate.

I would suggest you contact DV247 and ask on behalf of your friend if they can repeat that deal again as you will struggle to do better in my opinion.

Hello,
Thanks for the lots of comments! Very useful.
http://www.boeke-musik.de/ looks nice, good price, and had never heard of them before!
I bought the 76 version for the 2700, which at the time was 300 EUR less than thomann etc.! I could not believe this huge difference from advertised online shops who have huge turnover!
So I just though it could be nice to share this information on a regular basis??!
Geoff: you really think prices hav risen? I am not sure, sometimes I think they have fallen, but maybe depends on the actual online shop!
Thanks again!

Hello
I bought both, nordstage and wave, there, the service is great, and again, ask for a lower price by mail, good luck.

My local music retailer (who I have no reason to suspect was telling me untruths given that I have already bought the Nord Stage 2 88 from them) suggested that prices had gone up at least 10%.

I suppose price depends on many factors, particulalry foreign exchange rates such as the EUR and whether wholsale distributors and then retailers all want to make big mark-ups. If a large retailer is carrying stock across their network and bought in bulk for a good price at wholesale then their margins will be much bigger and probably can afford to offer the boards at lower prices.

Everyone seems to offer price matching these days so I suppose ultimately it is down to individual negotiation and how close to cost price a dealer is prepared to go to clinch a sale in these economically uncertain times.

Chevere, if you don't mind I think I will send you into the music shop when I buy my next peice of equipment as you seem very good at getting a great price. ;)

All the best.

;-) In fact, I got the tip from someone on another forum. So I though in general it could be valuable to share those kind of non-advertised prices (moderators: feel free to tell me that I am wrong!)
Will tell my fellow and see.
Thanks and fell free to write your buying experiences, always interested to learn!!

Rule #7 states that it's generally ok to unobtrusively mention an advertisement of some kind every 30 days or so, unless you're selling something as yourself, in which case it needs to go in the buy & sell section. I would say that personally i would have no problem with posts in a dedicated thread about some of the better prices people are finding - assuming they don't smell like advertisements that work to the posters' advantage. i.e.:
Mythical Random Guy #1 wrote:Hey guys I noticed thomann.de is having a 25% off sale on Nord stuff!
Perfectly fine.
Jim Jimmers wrote:Hey guys I noticed this guy who is not me at jimjimmerssynths.com has the NS2-88 for sale you should totally buy it from me I MEAN HIM
Not so good.

But again, just my interpretation, I'm not speaking for Johannes, mjbrands, frantzkb, et al. - we haven't convened a discussion about this exact topic yet.
