NE 6D expression/volume pedals

Post by MrLeftHill »

Hi folks,

I am about to pick up freshly ordered Nord Electro 6D 73, switching from NE 3 HP. I am so excited!

Please, am I right thinking that I can buy and use any expression/volume pedal there is on market? And it will work just fine?

Or do I have to strictly stick to what Nord is supporting (Yamaha, Roland, Korg) and apart from these nothing else will work?

Many thanks, Jan

You may be fine with quite a number of expression pedals. But there are differences: The range of min-max resistance may fit or not, and the characteristic may be linear or logarithmic. The first can be adapted in the Nord's setting, the latter not.

I'm fine with the Yamaha FC-7 (for swell and volume) and the Moog EP-3 (for quick changes like wah). There was a cheaper one I sent back because it wasn't satisfactory.

Hi MLH,

This is not exactly what you are looking for but it is definitely related. I created this thread last year...

I use Yamaha FC-7 pedal with my E6D, my trusty old pedal from many rigs. At first I was not happy with it as I was trying to get a Wah from it and it required a long throw to get it. I like Wah pedal being tight and with short action. I found that switching to the Roland EV-7 pedal setting works great. It still does fine for volume pedal as well. And the Wah or other effect happens in about 1/4 of pedal depression.
