Hi everyone , ive a NE4 which i bought from new 6 or so years back ,its had very little use over the years but last night when it had been switched on for no more than 5 minutes smoke started to come out from inside the case , i quickly pulled out the mains lead but the damage was obviously done , ive not yet checked inside but have a feeling the transformer has probably packed up ,has anyone else had this problem and does anyone know where i can get a new transformer or the complete power supply board , im in the uk......thankyou in advance for any replies

Try to open it up and have a look -- not infrequently, capacitors "dry out" and start to misbehave, and these are usually more easy to come by (and could be replaced if you're familiar with DIY electronics).
