Hi guys,
for a band project I am using an external midi controller to drive the organ B section on several patches (I am using a NS2 compact).
So setup is: NS2 on the lower manual that I am using for piano split and other synth stuff, and the midi controller on top for just the organ.
Everything it's fine, but i've experienced some stuck notes during live performances, that I am able to cancel out with the panic button.
This has happened with other midi controllers too, so I exclude the external gear. Is it a commong software bug on the ns2 ns2/ex series to have some hanging notes randomly?
Thanks for your support

Re: Nord Stage 2 - midi in stuck notes
Hi, I owned a NS2 88 for several years and using the same configuration (external keyboard as upper manual), never had such a problem.
Are you using DualKB or Panel mode and what is your overall MIDI channels configuration on NS2?
Have you tried different MIDI cables?
Which external controller(s) are you using and how is it configured and connected to NS2?

Re: Nord Stage 2 - midi in stuck notes
Ciao!
I am not using dual keyboard mode, cause I need a piano split on my lower manual (NS2 compact) that I use for bass rhodes sounds on the left hand and grand/upgright with my right hand.
As upper midi controller right not I have a simple ICON 5nano.
I've tried some weeks ago a m-audio keystation (with a midi usb host to convert to din).
I was blaming the cheap midi host device, but the same issue came back with the ICON board.
I just set the same midi channel 5 on the Organ B panel, in the midi menu.
It works perfectly but some times certain notes hang, until I press again them or use the panic button on the ns2
Che devo fare, non ne esco fuori

Re: Nord Stage 2 - midi in stuck notes
OK, setup looks fine, USB MIDI Host could have been a suspect, but if now it is "out of the game" I'd check the MIDI cable and/or try a different one.
As a test, try also to set all other MIDI Channels on NS2 to Off, except Organ B on 5

Re: Nord Stage 2 - midi in stuck notes
Nothing
So far I tried:
- changed midi cable
- turned off every possible channel interferance in both A & B layers
- change midi ch from 5 to 1, same result
- removed sustain pedal on the external controller
I am still able to trigger some random organ stuck notes, when doing glissando stuff. It happens rarely but still happens.
I do believe it's some sort of bug in handling note off messages when a lot of data is coming into the board.
I am running the lates OS, so I think there is not much else I can do.
