Patch level messed up because of Midi

Post by rootastic »

Hello,

Recently I link my Roland Fantom and Nord Electro 6D using a 5 pin midi cable to control sounds on both. The Roland has an option to have a midi patch in the scene and would control the volume of the nord. After messing with this, I noticed my nord sounds are messed up. The piano engine wasn’t affected, however both the organ and synth engines are very soft. When I create a new patch the issue is still there, piano is normal volume but organ and synth engines are very soft even when put at full volume. I’ve tried backing up my programs and resetting the nord to factory setting, then restoring my programs. When the board was back to factory setting all sound levels were normal but upon restoring my program the issue is still there. Unfortunately I didn’t back up my original programs before all this :(

Sounds like your Nord may have received some volume or control pedal (via midi?) input. What you hear corresponds to a control pedal being connected at low levels.

Do you have a control pedal connected to either instrument? Or have you mapped some other controller to send to your Nord?

Just try to send a volume or control input at max; that will restore the sound - and if you have saved a program with these settings, you may need to load it, send the correct control or volume levels and save it again.
