LFO Retrigger?

Post by EricBarker »

Am I correct in assuming the NS3 doesn't have an LFO Retrigger per note? I've RTFM and don't see anything, just making sure I'm not missing something, like if you happen to put it into a certain mode.

I haven't come across it. The LFO triggers and stays on task with whatever notes are added. If it's something you want throughout a program, you could create a sample with the LFO included so every note is independent of the others, but it also requires sampling every note you would play so the tempo is the same. Not the answer you wanted I'm sure.

Yeah, that would be overkill for this task in particular. It's not something I commonly run into, and not a necessity for Live shows, I'll work around it. My PolyD obviously doesn't either. A1 is rudimentary, but it gets the job done.

If you sync the LFO at internal clock you can retrigger the LFO on every note you play

Ah! I think I get it. I'm looking at the "Keyboard Sync" feature in the Master Clock, and you can have it restart with every key, and then you lock the LFO to the Master Clock. That's a bit confusing, but I think that will work. I was wondering if there was something like that where you had to come at it from an alternate method.

Sorry, I read your original request as wanting to have the LFO "per note" (one note working off one LFO trigger while being able to press another note and have it trigger the LFO for that note). The KB Sync won't do that however it will reset the clock after lifting all keys and then playing the keyboard again if that's the effect you're looking for. Good luck!

Yeah, that should do it. I just wanted to make a big old filter sweep but that slowly modulates once it settles. I’m finding that the initial sweep has very different timing depending upon where in the LFO it is. If I can make sure the LFO is in the same place every time I can tweak it to sound best. I’ll give it a shot.
