NS4 - wooden end panels SO slippery?? Customisations?
Hi - I'm used to picking up my NS2 by the end panels... but the matt finish on the NS4 makes them so slippery I almost dropped it!
Maybe this was the same on the NS3? I guess there's nothing we can do about it except be aware of it... although I'm tempted to make my own panels anyway out of some walnut or something.
Anyone made custom end panels?
Mike.

I never took my NS3 by the end pieces: too unsecure in my eyes. No option for NS-x-88 anyway.

My only gripe is that they’re slightly curved. I know this is bad practice but once in a while I have to gently lean the board against the wall before I put it in its bag. With the rounded edges I worry it could slip and fall. I think this is exceeding unlikely, but it makes me nervous. Maybe that’s a good thing, keeps me from leaning it against the wall!
Thankfully, it’s built like a tank. I’ve been in there a few times to do minor repairs, and I’m pretty secure with its build.

My Nord Stage 3c never gets leaned up against anything to put away! Lol
To expensive of a board...
I always grab mine off the stand from front, plug in side. To back, keys side slipping it in my case! Knock on wood it's over 4 years old in mint condition!

It’s not often, and I’m not sure I’ve done it yet (only had it for about 6weeks), but in quick-change festivals where I just need to get stuff off in a hurry, I’m used to having to setting my boards down somewhere fast, and then doing more meticulous break down offstage. No time to go get the bag, put it in, and zip up. Grab board and run off stage, go back, grab stand and cables, then put away after everything’s off. Only a few times a year though.
It’s just the polite thing to do so the next band doesn’t have to cut in to their set. I’m all about finding safe but very fast ways of getting on/off during band changes. I’ve been on the other end of that too many times… people meticulously putting all their gear away on stage in front of the audience, and cutting our time short. I don’t wanna be that guy. So I carefully lean it somewhere safe, and I’ve never seen it scratch any of my boards before.
