SUPER WAVE NOT FOUND
Hi there, hoping someone can help. When my Stage 3 Compact wouldn't edit properly, I had it returned to Nord to be repaired. When it returned, my Super Wave was gone. Whenever I called up a synth sound that utilizes the Super Wave waveform, it says in a box on the display: "Super Wave Not Found"; and the two red lights on the waveform panel flash on and off. Not sure why this happened. Not sure how to fix it. I was thinking backup and factory restore but I cannot find the factory restore file. When I click restore on the Sound Manager, it takes me to my last backup rather than the factory restore file. I search for it and it cannot find any factory settings file. Please help.

Re: SUPER WAVE NOT FOUND
Hi,
factory restore files are available on the download section of Nord’s web page.
The NS3 restore file is here: https://www.nordkeyboards.com/sites/def ... v2.5X.ns3b
Instructions: https://www.nordkeyboards.com/sites/def ... on%20C.pdf
You may also re-install the latest OS version, which you can get from here:
Windows: https://www.nordkeyboards.com/sites/def ... 0v2.62.zip
Mac: https://www.nordkeyboards.com/sites/def ... 0v2.62.dmg
I recommend you read the update instructions: https://www.nordkeyboards.com/sites/def ... ctions.pdf and do the OS re-install according to the hints in the trouble shooting section at the end of this document, which is this:
In the rare cases where the operating system in the Nord instrument have become damaged and the unit does not start properly, the Update Utility will be unable connect to the unit. If this is the case, start up the Nord while simultaneously holding down the Shift and Store buttons on the panel. This will start the unit in the Update mode, which makes it possible for the Update Utility to access and update the operating system in a Nord that does not start properly.
Good luck

Re: SUPER WAVE NOT FOUND
Chirorush4, if you are missing the 8 Super Wave selections for OSC1, you may want to try what's laid out by Schorsch above as soon as possible, as you don't want too much time to lapse before getting back with Nord about the problem. Good luck.

Re: SUPER WAVE NOT FOUND
Aren't the "superwaves" part of the synth itself, and thus not downloadable nor restorable from the bundle?
If they are missing, something is off with the board...

Re: SUPER WAVE NOT FOUND
Right, so probably the only thing worth trying is to reinstall the latest OS.Hlaalu wrote:Aren't the "superwaves" part of the synth itself, and thus not downloadable nor restorable from the bundle?

PS: unless that "my Super Wave" was not a sample with that name...

Re: SUPER WAVE NOT FOUND
Yes they are, thus probably also part of the OS. That’s why I recommend to re-install everything - not a big effort and therefore worth a try before taking a hardware repair into account, but you are right in generalHlaalu wrote:Aren't the "superwaves" part of the synth itself, and thus not downloadable nor restorable from the bundle?

Re: SUPER WAVE NOT FOUND
I doubt that if an integral part of the OS such as the superwaves is missing, the system double blink as when piano samples, or other samples, are missing.
Indeed, as you say I think it's likely that "superwave" was a patch name, which is expected to disappear during service since they probably freshly loaded it with the factory reset bundle.
Otherwise, there's something seriously off with the service centre... I don't even know what one would have to do to remove a waveform from the synth... editing the firmware file itself possibly? Surely not something you do "unawarely".

Re: SUPER WAVE NOT FOUND
A picture or video of the error message would have helped too, anyway let's wait for the OP to report if he tried the OS + Factory restore and what the result was.

Re: SUPER WAVE NOT FOUND
Chirorush4, let us know when you've tried the suggestions by Schorsch. If you still have the problem, I have a question: have you tried turning the OSC1 knob to scroll through the other Super Waves available when you've gotten the error? Does the problem affect all 8? It might help to pass that information on to Nord when you contact them. Good luck.
