I tested NSMP

I´ve reported the Problem to Nordsupport....

Member mrgkeys has reported success loading user-created NSMP files in NSM v7.70 by renaming them NSMP3 as a workaround until the bug is fixed. The old NSMP to NSMP3 converter is posted HERE as an alternative. Take care

Sorry about that. The old NSMP to NSMP3 converter is posted HERE. The converter is great for doing a batch of files but it isn't bug-free, so renaming NSMP to NSMP3 may be worth trying if one just has a few.

Nord Sound Manager v7.72 (2023-05-31) has been released with the following upgrade note:
"Added support for Nord Stage 4 v1.04 categories"

I'd appreciate a NS4 owner testing the new NSM v7.72 to see if Clavia fixed the user-created NSMP to NSMP4 conversion as well or whether it remains a bug. Thanks!

I just tried, the problem still exists. Also this version 7.72 of the sound manager software does not allow to convert nsmp3 library files and load them on nord stage 4 with version 1.06 update

Not even with the trick to rename them as .nsmp (since it works on user-created maybe... anyway it's worth trying)

Thanks for checking! You also have option reported by mrgkeys that user-created NSMP files can be renamed NSMP3 and then converted to NSMP4 with NSM. Somehow the conversion process doesn't care that the files are not "legitimate" NSMP3 files (can't be loaded into a NS3 for example).
