I have a new Piano 5 and feeling my way through this. There're a few sounds that I'd like to add but when I try anything other than "Samp", I get an incompatible message. I thought Sound manager would convert the files, but it doesn't. Is the Piano 5 limited to a specific file type?

The Piano 5 has the latest generation of samples -- version 4. So you need to look into Nord Sample Library 4. Your software Nord Sound Manager will convert older samples to that new version automatically - but only if it's user generated content (or 3rd party). No sample from the official NSL 2 or 3 will find its way into your Piano 5.

Don't ask me to explain this behaviour.

Hi, I have a new piano 5 88key. and have found that the program patches list goes from number A15 then jumps to A21, same with all the others ie B,C,D, etc.
I have tried saving sounds to these missing locations but the software wont let me.
Any advice would be great thanks. Ray Mc.

Hi and welcome to NUF,

as you can read on the NP5 manual, that's how the memory is organized: you have 16 Banks A-P with 5 Pages each and 5 Programs per Page, so "A21" is Page 2, Program 1 (of Bank A) and so on for all the 16 banks x 25 programs = 400 locations

It was designed this way originally so that Programs could be selected using via numeric method rather than scrolling. It was originally on the Stage and was adopted for all instruments after that. Please read page 16 of the Piano 5 manual-

Many thanks folks, it will eventually sink in. Meanwhile i'm really enjoying the superb sound quality especially the grands.
