There is a substantial amount of force being applied from those arms. (You also have the option of rotating the ends and using the tablet landscape, in which case it is clamped from top and bottom.)

I use a mic stand with a boom for vocals, so it looks like that articulating arm would be a good start- and only out $29 if I don't like it.
I'll report back after i get one.
