I use the K8.2 in combination with a 12" and a 15" sub.
I've done some concerts before Christmas, and I'm very pleased with the audio provided by the PA-setup.
I've also used (and still does on occasions) Bose L1 II (single or double). In my point of view the QSCs does a much better job pushing the audio through the venue and to the audience. The Boses somewhat looses power, and the dB-loss is significant after about 10-15 meters.
I think the same about the Bose F1, but this system has more strength than the L1 system though.
A stereo-set of Bose-speakers (top and sub) is cheaper than a stereo-set of QSCs

Thanks!
Talked to a guy at the Music Store today and he assured me my RCF 712 is a very good one and I shall simply get another one. Strongly considering it
18 kg are considerable. Times 2. What do you want them for? Monitoring? PA for a 2-piece band? Something bigger? I wouldn't want to schlepp this around only to get down to 50 Hz instead of 55 Hz with a 8'' speaker. The latter, I think, may sound even crisper. But there are different opinions around.
What, @Rusty Mike, about your EV Everse 8 after using them for a few weeks? They are even smaller and lighter than the QSC K8.2!

It seems I have a tendency to forget about the weight when I consider or even order new gear (mp12se.. for a gigsyy
Good point again.
I need them either for solo piano gigs, and sometimes I need them for a gig with a band. Recently needed my rcf box for a little open air gig with a jazz quartet. 2 speakers would have been definitely better. Will read myself a bit more Into the sie next and come back with questions since weight is a factor if I think about these gigs..
I'm happy with my 2 QSC K8.2 as stage monitors for tho piano. Sometimes used them for a 2-piece band (voice/piano). But indeed we use 12'' speakers for the PA in our big band (including drums and bass).

I’m still fiddling with the EQ to optimize the sound. I tried making adjustments in my basement, but the sound changes in the live band situation. I still need a few more sessions to get it perfect.
That said, a single Everse 8 has plenty of volume for my needs. I’m not sure a single speaker will stand up to a rock or pop situation. The K8.2’s are certainly more powerful, but the EV projects very well.
Once I get to an optimal sound, I’ll update the results in the Everse thread.
