Hello.
I'm looking for a pad sound for intro of Queen - Who wants to live forever. I made a small research and I found that it is patch 14-SYN-ORCH from Yamaha DX7.
Nord gives a pack for Dx7II (https://www.nordkeyboards.com/sound-lib ... -dx7-mk-ii), but it does not contain such a sample.
Does anyone tried to reproduce such a sound?
On some page I spotted a hint:
"I used both the slots A & B,
A: osc1 FM (pure sine -1 oct.) - osc2 (FM pure sine 0 oct. slightly down detuned)
B: osc1 (FM pure sine +1 oct, sligthly up detuned) - osc2 (FM pure sine with some feedback-shaping (similar to a sawtooth)).
Add chorus and reverb. That's it! ", but it was related to Nord Wave.
I'll also take a try.
Thanks.

You can download Dexed here: https://asb2m10.github.io/dexed/
It is a very good emulation and you can load original sysex files.
When you find the sound you can sample it.

I have a DX7, I can try to sample it, but I really doubt that will work fine over the whole keyboard. I am not that experienced, but trying to get close to it with a combi of organ and modulated synth sounds like the best option.

Or you can download the SysEx of the sound (need to dig a bit the Internet : seems it's on ROM#2B (http://bobbyblues.recup.ch/yamaha_dx7/s ... 20ROM2.htm)) to the DX7 online program (https://www.webaudiomodules.org/wamsynths/dx7) and sample it directly from the NSE !
