Hi everybody. I have bought a Nord Drum 3p for my live performance. My aim is to use my E-Drum (Roland TD6) as a MIDI controller to control the Nord module.
I connected the Roland MIDI OUT into the Nord MIDI IN, but every Roland pad I hit plays the same Nord Channel (with a different scale note).
I wanted to play each channel on each individual pad. Could someone tell me how to do that please??
Thanks!!!!!
Bests,
D

Re: PLAYING NORD 3P VIA OTHER E-DRUM
Hi Davidevil,
Welcome to the forum!
I think you may have switched on the Individual MIDI channels, and they are set to the MIDI channel that the TD9 sending on. If so, switch these off [Ch.Of] use the Global MIDI channel instead, adjust the MIDI notes to match the notes that the TD9 is sending..
Hope this helps,
Cheers,
Albert

Re: PLAYING NORD 3P VIA OTHER E-DRUM
Hi Albert,
Thanks for your reply. I have switched the Channels off and Global On on the Nord and the result is no sound come out from it. I think I need to change some settings on the TD-6, but its menu is not straightforward at all (at least for me).

Re: PLAYING NORD 3P VIA OTHER E-DRUM
Hi,
I checked the Roland website; by factory default, the Drum kit part of the TD-6 is on MIDI channel 10, so that's the same as the default Global MIDI channel of the 3p, (it doesn't have to be 10, but make sure they are both on the same channel..)
Now match the notes:
The default MIDI notes of the 3p are:
60 for drum channel 1,
62 for drum channel 2,
64 for drum channel 3,
65 for drum channel 4,
67 for drum channel 5,
69 for drum channel 6.
I found this list for the Roland:
https://www.vdrums.com/forum/general/pr ... -note-list
Make sure to adjust the note numbers of the 3p to match the notes of the TD-6, or the other way around..
So, either follow the manual of the 3p, or this one for the TD~6: https://rolandus.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/a ... o-the-Pads
Cheers,
Albert
