Hello everybody,
I'm looking for how I can send a midi program change to my Nord Drum 3P.
Actually, I've a got a Apple Macbook and Logic Pro.
I manage to record notes from the Nord Drum 3P in Logic Pro with a midi interface.
I manage to send notes from Logic Pro in the Nord Drum 3P
I manage to send midi CC from Logic Pro to the Nord Drum 3P to change filter frequency, Filter resonance, etc...
But, I would like that when I open a Logic Pro's project, it will send a midi message to ND3P in order to command it to select the good drum kit for this project.
I have read the user Manuel, search in forum, etc... I have read that it be about CC 0 (Bank select MSB) and CC 32 (Bank select LSB).
But any message form this CC seem to go to the nord drum 3P. It doesn't change the Drum Kit.
My nord drum 3P midi setting :
Lo : On
GL : 10
PC : r
CC : Sr
SE nd
thank a lot for help
Karl

Re: Nord Drum 3P and program change with a DAW
Hi Karl,
There's bank select and program change, two different things. You can select a bank using the 2 CC's, with program change you select a program within a bank. Program change messages are different from CC messages and notes. Maybe you can record a program change to see what it looks like in your DAW; on the Nord set PC (Program Change) to send and receive, that's 'Sr' I believe, then record MIDI on your DAW while going from one program to the next, then check what you see on your DAW..
To select the right program at the beginning of a track, you'll need the 2 CC's to select the desired bank, then a program change.
Cheers,
Albert

Re: Nord Drum 3P and program change with a DAW
Hello,
Here's what I did for those who might be interested and it works
The procedure for ordering a change of sound bank of hardware synths when opening the project in the DAW:
• Logic Pro
• Nord Drum 3P
• Hydrasynth Deluxe
1 - For each midi track, create an event (by clicking on + "change prog.")
2 - MSB/LSB value: from 0 to 127 (Sound bank number)
3 - Program value from 0 to 127 (Sound number)
Thanks
KG
