I have a new Piano 5. Never owning a NORD product, I was very enthused that i bought it until i started using it. I am hoping there is a way around what I consider a design flaw. When layering with the A and B sides to either the piano or synth groups, in order to shut off one of the two layers, you have to shut off both A AND B to shut off either A OR B. I hate it that in order to shut off either side, you cannot do it without first shutting off BOTH sides simultaneously and then turn one back on again. So you effectively shut off the sound temporarily until you turn one back on. Why wasn't it designed to have each button independent from the other. In my opinion, if I have 2 layer buttons on, pressing one or the other or both a second time will shut it off. If you hit it again, it will turn back on etc. That way, you are not shutting off the sound of the keyboard temporarily while playing live by having to hit both sides at once and turn one back on. Very cumbersome to me. I hope there can be a way to have all 4 of the layer buttons independently controlled. One press, ON. Another press OFF. If you shut off A, B is still on and sounding or visa/versa. As technologically advanced as NORD, it seems like this is the way they would have designed these buttons to turn on and off independently... That's kind of a no brainer to me.
Any thoughts? Please advise.

Re: Illogical design.. Please help
Hi, Mikey-
Yes, Nords are a little different in architecture.. From page 10 of the manual:
To turn off one of two active Layers, hold down the button
corresponding to the Layer that should stay active and press once on
the other Layer button.
To turn off both Layers, press once on both Layer buttons
simultaneously
Hope this helps-

Ah. The old "read the manual". Simple advice that we all need to hear now and then. Thankfully Nord manuals are fairly short.

Hmm.. I knew they gave you that owners manual for some reason. You can only imagine my embarrassment. But thanks for the help none the less. I will be extremely careful before posting in the future. PS I still think it would be much easier if they would just put a "button on, button off" design. But I am excessively thankful for the help.
