The great new sound bank !!!

Post by Nord Wave Too »

I was happy to see a new sound bank offered on the Nord site. But disappointment, after having loaded and tested the 25 programs in my NW2, I will erase everything ... maybe only park one?
It's worse than reed boxes for sax or clarinet .... The SynthSei Signature is for fun for kids, isn't it?

Yes, there are some pretty interesting programs in that batch. I did erase all but 50 or so programs when I got my NW2. I just kept the programs that showed some of the functionality of the machine that I was not familiar with. Hopefully soon there will be an update as well, as it almost 15 months now with no updates- :(

Yes ... in every Great New Sound Bank I save perhaps one or two on my NW2. But i have to try them all first ... ;)
NE3HP, NP88, NS2, DPP1, NL2X, NL2X, NLA1, NL4, NE5D, NW2 (Collect Them All?), some classic Rolands, Arturias, a Waldorf, a Kurz, a WONOK3, a pile of guitars, a P-bass, loopers, amps and computers ...
I'm a gearslut!

I feel like this just speaks to the Wave 2’s biggest weakness - single velocity samples leave so much to be desired.

This in no way calls into question the quality and possibilities of the NW2, which I personally love. But I would prefer some good samples added to the 3.0 library (there are some very good ones already), rather than bland programs like the ones just released.

These Artists soundsets,Like most of the presets already loaded into the machines themselves,Are never much use for your own music,There good as a reference point for certain sound types or deconstructing to see how they are put together.

I love the Wave but hardly any of the presets have inspired me to create a new song,Your better off spending the time to learn to program the synth and you'd never need to bother with any external soundsets,The only benefit I see of External soundsets is if your after specific cover type sounds that someone else has programmed to emulate songs if your doing covers.

I've deleted all the factory content sounds/Samples in my Wave so its only got my own sounds programmed for my own needs, thats one of the great things about the wave,it doesn't have to be full of loads of pointless sounds your never going to use the synth can be tailored exactly to your setup.

Speaking of samples, there's also no way to set various x-fade curves.
For some sound types, equal power crossfade is needed for smoothness. It's very strange theyt don't offer that either.

I understand they want to keep things easy to use but not being able to produce smooth crossfades (for one button less in the gui) is not making things easy.
