Does anyone know what this exactly means?

"Accomodates production component change"

Currently the Electro, Wave and Grand got this update but I am sure others will have it soon

I am guessing it means that some new components is being used for recently manufactured models and that a software fix was needed to address this change.

But without further explanation from Clavia, it's just wild guessing...

I guess is has to do with new sample format support.

No, there is no such indication in the release notes.

Hopefully it’s a sign of new hardware configurations coming soon.

I think it’s a sign that they have found some alternative to solve the chip shortage. Wonder why the Stage 3 is not yet covered

It's the opposite in my opinion: this might be indicative that they intend to keep the current hardware around for a while longer. Either this or some of the components Nord use aren't easily available on the market anymore.

There's a somewhat interesting detail I've found out after downloading the OS update for my Electro 6: the app was created, and last edited, back on January 14. Maybe Nord really have a massive backlog caused by a mix of coronavirus-related issues and organisational contretemps and are trying to get back on track as fast as they can. It's likely at this point that they're currently working on porting the Sample Library 4 to the current line-up, planning to focus back on new hardware starting from next year.

Yes we've seen this "Accomodates production component change" a couple of times before for other Nord keyboards, and as suggested by others, it then almost certainly involved only minor changes of components in the next production batch, possibly because some components had become more difficult to come by, but in any case, there were no functional changes, nor anything visibly different on the outside..

Oh well. A man can dream.
