Softcase reccomendation for Electro 5D

Postby Deadkeys » 22 Jun 2022, 03:35

Had a Levys DM6 for years and giging 4 times a month,,,,zipper just busted.
What do you reccomend that has pretty thick padding without the cost of a hard case?
I have a Gator for my MODX6 but the Nords are alot heavier

Thanks

I looked for a while and finally decided on the Road Runner soft case. I forget the exact model but its one level heavier than their lightest case, as I recall. Anyway, it is durable, has sturdy zippers, a couple pockets, carrying strap, wheels, and is plain black in color. From what I could tell, Nord makes the only soft case that fits like a glove. The Road Runner has extra space inside, but I can wrap some dunnage around my board stand and it fits neatly inside, taking up the extra width space. The extra length space was never a bother. Highly recommend it. Got it at my local Guitar Center for less than $150 total.

Thanks, this is a great lead. From the specs, it looks like the Road Runner case is 4" wider and 5" taller than the Electro 73. Not ideal, but now that the Nord case costs $370 (!), this sounds like a nice affordable alternative.

Weird. Thomann sells them for 175, granted they are not immediately available: Nord Soft Case 73 (Thomann)
