'Linked' LED issue.

Postby Umbra57 » 11 Apr 2022, 14:51

Hey, My apologies if this isn't the right place for this, but I've been having some issues recently with the LEDs on my 6HP. Some of the LEDs appear to be linked so when some turn on, so do others.
This is most notable with the drawbars. The lights for the bass drawbars are linked to lights all over the board, and the drawbars for the TRMP8 and 2 2/3 are both linked, so when one is all the way up, it displays the other as being all the way up. Despite it not being so sound wise.
It's a purely cosmetic issue, the sound is not affected even when corresponding lights are on for example, effects.
The thing which has me puzzled is it's not on constantly. Sometimes all the lights are on, sometimes they're not.

I have no clue if this is common or whether it's an actual hardware issue. If a video is needed It'd not be a problem! Let me know. I have attached 2 photos showing some of the worst problems.
I appreciate any help!

Hi Umbra, welcome to the forum!

In your photo's the inappropriately lit LED's seem quite bright, which can be quite confusing..
I had something very similar with my Stage, and because I really couldn't tell which LED's were supposed to be on, and which were on for no obvious reason, I sent it back. After replacing the main board the problem was solved. I think that some crosstalk resulting in other LED's lighting up very dimly is perhaps acceptable, but if you can't tell what is going on with your parameters I'd send it back for repairs.

Good luck,
Albert

The thing which is mainly confusing me is they're very bright and the fact they're not constantly on. So I'm baffled! I've contacted support and I'm looking at getting it fixed. Real shame, it's my first Nord and really and first piece of very nice equipment! Appreciate the help anyhow.

Yes, very unfortunate indeed!
I remember another thread about a similar issue, a multiplexer (mux in short) could be the culprit,

nord-stage-forum-f3/stage-ex-weird-led-behaviour-what-s-this-about-t10648.html?hilit=multiplexer#p69896

Hopefully it will be fixed soon!

I have had the keyboard back for about a month after sending it to the dealership for repairs, and very briefly the problem has reappeared. It's not permanent yet but I fear it will end up being. It's making me think I'm possibly doing something to cause this. Does anyone know what may be the cause? I'd rather not have to send it back hah

I'm not using power conditioners, no. Is that something I should look at? What sorta thing should I be looking for?

Then it seems that they have not fixed it. I would complain again.
