Having trouble with the sustain pedal on my controller which I'm using in Dual Kb mode for a lot of different patches on a tour.
I'm using a Novation Launchkey 61 MkIII as my secondary keyboard with my Nord Stage 3. The problem is arising when I have a sustain pedal plugged into both the Nord and the Novation. The sustain that's plugged into the Novation isn't working at all even though the MIDI is being registered (midi light comes on when depressed).
This is really frustrating as I had been using the same patches with with different controller (Juno-D) and it was working just fine. I want to be a to hold chords with the Novation pedal while playing piano (for example) on the nord with its own pedal...
I have tried different midi routings and changed between Panel and Seperate instrument Dual Kb modes but haven't found a solution yet
Any help would be very much appreciated!
Thanks you

Re: Stage 3 Dual Kb Independent Sustain Ped Problem
I do have 2 sustain pedals attached for my DualKB setup. Everything is fine with it. The controller is a Yamaha stage piano, though.
Could you explain a bit more about your setting? As your Novation might be vastly configurable, are you sure the sustain is sent on the right (DualKB) channel - the same as the notes?
Edit: The sustain needs to come from extern for the externally controlled engines if you are in Panel DualKB mode. You can use both the external or the Stage sustain pedal for the external part if you are using single engine DualKB mode. You need to use the Nord's sustain signal to control the internally controlled engines. At least that's how it is on my NS3C.

Re: Stage 3 Dual Kb Independent Sustain Ped Problem
I have MIDI out to my wave 2, MIDI in to my stage 3. A sustain pedal in ns3 sustain slot; and a sustain pedal in wave sustain slot. When I’m Dual KB mode I have to use the sustain in my wave 2 for the dual kb mode midi controller (in this case my wave 2).

Re: Stage 3 Dual Kb Independent Sustain Ped Problem
Maybe not related but I had the following issue using two Boss FS5U pedals mechanically connected to eachother (using the side rails of the pedals) in combination with a Nord Stage 2 compact and a Yamaha MOXF8.
One of the pedals was connected to the speed pedal input of the Nord, the other to the sustain pedal input of the Yamaha. This did not work entirely or the pedals behaved weird and inconsistent.
As it turned out all problems were gone when the pedals were mechanically separated.

Re: Stage 3 Dual Kb Independent Sustain Ped Problem
How odd. That rail is just an external mechanical way of keeping them joined. That should not interfere with what a switch inside the box does. Do the pedals get somehow structurally distorted and the switches stop working? Have you tried joining them again and check if they still work?
