Count - did you wake up on the wrong side of the studio??

Dcjams - thanks for the links and insights.
As for felt piano, glad there’s a new sample. Not useful for my purposes but I’m not Nord’s only customer

I know right?! Wtf.SteveNordP3 wrote:Count - did you wake up on the wrong side of the studio??
Well, as often happens online, it’s difficult to know what someone means just by words alone. For example, I was being lighthearted with the Count - you may have interpreted my meaning as trying to pounce on him. I added the smiley emoji to try to help convey meaning, but that’s not always successful.dcjams wrote:I know right?! (with my felt piano, obvs)
There are some great (and not so great) videos on YouTube that demonstrate what a 5 meter bass string does to the sound of a piano. It’s pretty glorious. Check out his Una Cordas too. The man’s a genius!StrangeAeons wrote:I've just googled that Klavins gargantuan piano: what's the point? Is it just a gimmick or does it actually feature a superb and unique sound?
I realise that if you only deal with acoustic instruments and direct sound, there is only one "preset", and the sound is what it is (ignoring that even that isn't true, since hammer density can be adjusted, strings sound different, and placement in/treatment of the room make considerable differences).Gambold wrote:Brian May authorized a signature VOX AC/30 amp with one knob. Volume. That's really all you should need for a good acoustic piano sample.
