Yes, this happened to me this past weekend on stage on the 2-month old Nord Electro 5 I use. It happened exactly as you describe and concerns me! I've been working with the keyboard to see if I can make it happen again--hopefully not!

My Electro 6D just started doing the same tonight - the sound just cut out all of a sudden. I bought this keyboard in 2018 and it has been serviced before.
Tonight I had the control pedal plugged in and sustain pedal, it was playing through my Universal Audio Twin II into logic 9 and I was recording- when the sound first stopped working I thought it perhaps I set something up wrong on my audio interface, even though it was working a second ago...and so I reset that. Then it would make noise and I would go to record and the sound wouldn't work, so I thought it was a pedal problem, so I kept plugging it in and out and restarting the Nord - The Nord would make noise at the beginning and then would cut out. So then I thought it was my recording program - logic. I restarted that a bunch of times and also the keyboard at the same time, same thing happened. So I plugged my Nord into my amp to make sure it was The Nord and not my recording software or computer. The sound would work and then it would cut out, when using the amp. And when I say cut out, it cuts out until you turn The Nord off and then it is back when you turn it back on. I went to update The Nord on sound manager etc etc..it was all up to date but I did it anyway, same thing happened.

So I decided to pull the keyboard open to see if anything had come loose....now looking inside I can't really tell if anything is loose or damaged....HELP!!!

I suggest cleaning the entire circuit board using contact cleaner.
Possibly some kinda shorts could make that happen.

I know abusing contact cleaners could be harmful, too, but in my case, I have sprayed tons of contact cleaners from like 2 years ago and
my NE2 still survives; except that I want to change the ribbon connector between key bed and circuit board but I can't find any in the market now.
