Somebody walked past a speaker stand holding a PA speaker, and knocked it over, the speaker fell on my keyboard. Amazingly there were no dents or scratches on the body, but I do have a damaged black key, chipped at the end. I've watched some YouTube videos on how to get to the keybed. No problem doing that, I'm comfortable going inside my Kurzweil keyboards as I've replaced displays, springs, contacts, etc..
I just don't know how to release the key from the keybed, and if anyone can clue me in, that would be great. I don't want to damage anything trying to figure it out myself.
Thanks,
Steve

Re: Electro 6D 73 key replacement
Rather than replace the entire keyed, why not repair the key with some black epoxy?.

Re: Electro 6D 73 key replacement
I bought a brand new replacement key for $16 delivered. Original Nord key for the Electro 6D.
Maybe it wouldn't bother some people to touch a key after repairing it with epoxy, I've seen some people play on worse, but I'm sure I'd notice it EVERYTIME I touched it.
Another option would have been to remove it from the middle of the keybed and exchange it with a good key at either far end of the keyboard, where I'd be less likely to play it often.
Moot point since it's been replaced.
