Re: Nord grand clipping sound when playing
For what it's worth, I'd agree with Mr_-G- on this -- it sounds like a gain staging issue. It's easy enough to check. Start by (a) putting your piano voice volume at 12:00 (straight up), then (b) putting the overall volume at 12:00, and then (c) turning up the monitors until you get a bit of volume. If it doesn't sound good when adjusted that way, it's something else that's wrong.
I think I have gear issues ....

Re: Nord grand clipping sound when playing
Thank you
I will try that when i get home
Maybe buying a small good quality mixer would mean i have gain staging meter readings to go by.
I will let you know how i get on
Regards Paul

Re: Nord grand clipping sound when playing
So today I checked a few settings etc.
Firstly I set the volumes of both the piano and main output to 12 o’clock as suggested
Bought the monitor volumes up to 0db
I also noticed I had the Dino eq setting on the piano as well as a huge amount of hi and mid eq set which doesn’t help matters.
I do still hear some noise build up if I hold down the sustain pedal in the higher 2 octaves
I’m probably going to buy a nice compact mixer to set gain levels and then I’ll also be able to get a nice Strymon reverb lol
Thanks for all your help with this matter
So far so good.
If the issue returns I will let you know but it’s all good at the moment
