Stand Holder for 3p (& other models)

Postby Nelson Baboon » 19 Aug 2021, 22:26

You'll excuse me - I'm emphatically not a drummer, and am unfamiliar with this kind of equipment.

I just received my 3p from reverb.com, and also a gibraltar stand from sweetwater. I was puzzled about how they might attach, but I found in the 3p manual that there should be a stand holder. Mine did not have one.

Is there any way to pick up one of these separately? I've been looking with no success thus far.

this seems to be the only thing close that i can find that appears to be in stock.

I guess the question is does the adapter for the 2 work for the 3p?

Not 100% sure about the one for the 3p, the one that came with the Nord Pad (they used to make the Pad and unit separately before the 3p) seems to be made stronger than the one for the Nord drum 2 unit itself, the unit is much lighter than the Pad or the 3p. Otherwise, the dimensions of the plates are the same. I haven't found one from other (drum) brands that fits, although they may look very similar, so stay away from those.

I'd contact the dealer, I think it should have been in the box..

Cheers,
Albert

unfortunately, i bought it on reverb, and shall i say that the seller is not a nice person.

I did get an answer from nord a little while ago, and it looks like the one for the 2 is the one to get. I found one (at a jacked up price) but it seems worthwhile to have it.

The dimension you need for the stand holder are that the plate of the stand holder should have a distance between the holes (centre of hole to center of hole) should be 80mm in the horizontal direction and 50mm in the vertical direction.

The part number indicated on the stand mount/holder/plate that I am using is A015G.

Thi information should be documented in the manual. But it isnt. The manual has on page 16 a diagram of the stand holder with no indication of the dimensions of the thing, and no indication of the size of the screws that should be used in the hole. Apparently Nord thinks that proper and complete product documentation is something exotic.

I think if the replacement part was easy to come by, you wouldn't need the dimensions in the manual. Perhaps it would have been easier if they'd chosen for the more common Roland's mounting plate design. Apparently some specialized spare parts stores sell them, you can also contact the Nord distributor in your country to check if they can provide you with a spare one.

To summarize:

- The Nord drum 3p, 2, 1, and Nord Pad all use the same 'stand holder',
- The distance between the (centres of the) holes is: 50mm and 80mm,
- The bolts have an M4 thread, length is 8mm,
- The Roland/Alesis/Millenium mounting plate cannot be used to mount the Nord drum series units!
- Nord website: Contact your Nord distributor for spare parts

*The stand holder of the Nord Pad has some additional ribs/buttresses underneath (see belowj, not sure if they contibute much to the strength, the stand holder of the slightly heavier and larger 3p does not seem to have them.

Cheers,
Albert
