Nord lead 2x power change from 220 to 110

Post by Mr zaga »

Hello I am moving to USA and I have been after a Nord lead 2x for a quite while now i found it and realised that clavia don't do their equipment 110 to 240 as other companies do. so I will have no choice but to go along with it someone told me should not be more than opening flipping a switch and changing a fuse but that about how much i know.
Could someone bring some light to this please I cant imagine getting there with the new synth and not been able to dig in it.

Hej Mr Zaga!

This sounds like a task for Pablo ... just hang on a few hours (he's probably in a US time zone) and he'll deliver the perfect official answer! :D

Good luck with your dear NL2X!

This sounds like a task for Pablo ...
Since tomorrow is Independence day in the US, today is something of a holiday as well, so Pablo might be off today...

No rest for the weary... ;-) when my days are taken up with family/holiday things, I usually wind up covering the missed day at night when I get home (after a cursory sobriety test)

there is plenty info in this forum on this topic already and I don't love typing the same thing over and over again

However, anyone with a name as cool as Mr. Zaga deserves red carpet treatment, so...

all fuses are 250v slo-blo

230v operation = 125mA fuse with physical dimensions 5x20mm
115v operation = 300mA fuse with physical dimentions 6x30mm (really 6.3mm, or 1/4" x 1-1/4")

the different fuse dimensions are accomodated by using different fuse caps
you want a change out your fuse AND fuse cap after you and your bright red baby arrive on these shores
link me at work after you get here and BEFORE opening your instrument and I'll hook you up

Bless,

Pablo

I realize this comes up all the time, but since COVID I’m having a really difficult time tracking down a fuse and fuse holder for switching my Nord Lead 2x to U.S. power. Hoping someone out there has a definitive suggestion from a U.S. retailer. Also does it matter if the fuse is glass or ceramic?

Thanks in advance.
