Hi banterbanter,
I don't have a NP4, but a NS3C. But wouldn't be pleased very much if NORD would establish a MIDI communication where you "can easily achieve midi velocity 127" for any velocity curve.
Even if it may not be so important for live playing if there is no difference between playing hard and very hard.
I was thinking about buying a Nord Piano 4 as an external controller for my Stage 3 Compact - but won't be interested any more if it's like you reported. In my eyes 120 as a practical limit would have been quite perfect.

The Stage 3 already has this feature - see page 56 of manual - external section 'KEYB Velocity panel A/B'

I didn't say 'easily' reach 127 - I mean it literally can't transmit that at all, ever. Even if you used a hammer.
110 was its max - Until the new OS update - see my previous post.
All sorted now

Re: NP3 Velocity over MIDI — can't reach 127.
As I don't have a NP4, I can't test how 'easily' you get to vel. 127.
I just read "...ALL of them can easily achieve midi velocity 127" from your post. Hopefully, I only understood something different than you meant with that 'easily'.
110 in contrary is not very much. It's not so far from the famous max. 100 of the Yamaha DX7.
I will look into taking a MIDI monitor with me next time I'm in my dealer's show room (in case they still have a NP4 available).

Unfortunately he is talking about NP3 (Nord Piano 3) not NS3 and looking at the NP3 OS versions history (linked by Tasten-Bert in his previous post) I don't see any recent release addressing that issue, sorry @mybadmemory

Sorry yes, I misread their post for stage 3 when they said Nord Piano 3

I see your point - I only used the word 'easily' as it seemed so easy compared with the previous OS version's impossible (max 110).
But to give you a more detailed answer - the new external velocity curve on the NP4's new OS is smooth and pretty balanced and playable - so I did not mean it pokes out 127 with the lightest touch!
Thanks
