Hi, I have Nord Stage 3 and want to buy monitor speakers. I wonder it is not possible to change output volume exactly on speakers (only input level)... Please, is there any possibilty how to change the level of monitor output (e.g. exactly on keyboard) independently on master level?
Thank you very much

Re: Nord Monitor Speakers
Hello!!
Try connecting your Nord Stage3 via
volume pedal Boss FV-500L to Nord piano monitors
like I connected mine in the picture.
To me personally the sound is louder
and cleaner than when NS3 is connected
directly to Nord piano monitors.
Certainly at least 20% stronger ( to me )
The reason why, I have no idea..

Re: Nord Monitor Speakers
With all respect, I cannot see how that can be possible. Volume pedals act as passive attenuators.

I wrote that I don’t even know how,

try it.

Yeah but what if the pedal is upside down?

Re: Nord Monitor Speakers
Volume pedal Boss works only in one direction
from top to bottom
unlike the volume pedal Yamaha FC-7 which works
via morph on NS3. There is a volume adjuster on
the Boss pedal on the left by which you can
adjust the minimum volume.
Boss pedal controls the master volume only,
not each section separately like Yamaha!!!!

Hi Sever1978,
you seem to be quite new to the forum. So you probably didn't take into account that what CountFosco was writing might have been a joke or some kidding. You should.

Re: Nord Monitor Speakers
Putting a signal through an earthed variable resistor (what a volume pedal is) cannot *amplify* the signal. That would mean that the pedal (which is a passive device) generates a *higher* voltage than the input and makes the sound louder. That obviously would violate Ohm's law (and that does not happen with the carbon resistors used in pots).
Likely possibilities are that you did not compare exactly the same "before" and "after" sounds, e.g. the expression pedal you used before was not morphing the full volume range of the different sections (or that it was morphing some other parameters in addition to the section volumes).

Re: Nord Monitor Speakers
I agree with you Mr G,
and I believe you that it is as you wrote,
but this difference in volume was noticed the first time I combined Nord and Kawai ,,
and again I emphasize, my impression in any combination is that I get the sound louder through volume pedal.
it’s just my impression and I don’t claim to be so..
